About Kelly

Kelly Edelman (née Varesio) is a New Jersey-based author, artist, nursing instructor, wife, and mother whose love for storytelling began at a young age and has only deepened over time.

At just sixteen, she published her first novel, Insperatus—a sweeping tale of 19th-century vampires and other shadowed beings, laced with historical accuracy and rich emotional depth. Its sequel, Infectus, delves even further into the haunting world she created, exploring the complexities of love, immortality, and sacrifice.

Her latest novel, State of Ruin, transports readers to the American Civil War in a powerful story of romance, adventure, tragedy, and triumph. Blending historical drama with deeply human emotion, it showcases Kelly’s signature ability to craft immersive, atmospheric fiction.

When she’s not writing, Kelly is a professor of nursing at a local university, creates art, and enjoys spending time with her family. She finds inspiration in nature and quiet moments—whether she’s sketching, walking along the beach, or camping under the stars—always with a warm cup of coffee or a glass of sherry in hand, depending on the hour.
